Read Romans 5:1-11

“But God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” (Romans 5:8)

The Book of Romans speaks about Christian being justified by faith in Christ. “All of us have sinned and fall short of the glory of God (Romans 3:23). Our salvation did not come from our good deeds, it came because of God’s love for us, that Christ died for us.

 Our Assurance (Romans 5:1-2)

When we believe and receive Jesus as our Lord and Saviour, we put our trust in Him and accept Him by faith. We are therefore justified by faith in Christ and received God’s peace. We too obtained grace that led us to feel triumphant in the hope of the glory of God.

Our Hope in Christ (Romans 5:3-11)

We were once without hope, destined to die in our sin. But God demonstrated His love for us, while we were still in this hopeless state in sin, that Christ died for us. God give us the Hope of salvation and turn the tide of hopelessness that we can now look into tribulation with hope. With the help of  Holy Spirit given to us as a child of God, we can be fully assured that our current tribulation will bring forth perseverance and proven character through the justification of our faith.

I have Eternal Life (Romans 6:23)

Christ died for us. God did not wait for us to take the first step back to Him. He intervened , and by His grace, provide a way for us to come back to Him. This is the certainty of our Hope in Christ. We no longer stand condemned by our sin, we have been justified by faith. This is the free gift that God in His love bestows to us.

For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord” (Romans 6:23).

Application and Prayer:

God, we thank you for the assurance that our sins are forgiven. Thank you that we are able to enter into your Peace. Thank you for your Love by providing us a way back to you through our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. We are no longer condemned and today we receive the gift of eternal life in Christ, being justified by our faith in Him. Amen

Romans 5:1 - 11

Therefore, since we have been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ. Through him we have also obtained access by faith into this grace in which we stand, and we rejoice in hope of the glory of God. 3Not only that, but we rejoice in our sufferings, knowing that suffering produces endurance, and endurance produces character, and character produces hope, and hope does not put us to shame, because God's love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit who has been given to us.

For while we were still weak, at the right time Christ died for the ungodly. For one will scarcely die for a righteous person—though perhaps for a good person one would dare even to die— but God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. Since, therefore, we have now been justified by his blood, much more shall we be saved by him from the wrath of God. 10 For if while we were enemies we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, now that we are reconciled, shall we be saved by his life. 11 More than that, we also rejoice in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have now received reconciliation.
