Inter-school Christian Fellowship Movement
The History and Vision of the Inter-School Christian Fellowship (ISCF) Movement
The Inter-School Christian Fellowship (ISCF) was founded in the 1950s by Rev. Paul Contento, who was then involved with the Singapore Theological Seminary alongside Dr. Calvin Chao. Initially, the ISCF was placed under the Inter-Varsity Fellowship (IVF), now known as the Fellowship of Evangelical Students (FES). However, FES later determined that ISCF would align better with the vision of Scripture Union (SU). In 1965, Scripture Union officially took on the ISCF Movement.
Over the decades, the ISCF has nurtured generations of Christian leaders, equipping them to impact their schools, communities, and beyond. This movement has stood as a beacon of faith and a platform for empowering youth to lead their peers and live out their Christian calling.
A Call to Action: Shaping the Next Generation
As we approach the 60th year of this movement, we are witnessing the emergence of the fifth generation of Christian youth since Singapore’s independence—a critical milestone. The Bible offers a sobering reminder in Judges 2:10-11, where within five generations, Israel had forgotten God. Today, our secondary school students represent the fourth generation. If this generation becomes lukewarm in their faith, the next may grow cold.
With this sense of urgency, it was decided that the ISCF Movement be a stand-alone initiative with a singular focus: to equip students and empower the next generation to live boldly for Christ.
Come partner with us to reignite the ISCF Movement, empowering students to lead their peers and anchoring them in the fundamentals of faith—prayer, Quiet Time, fellowship, and evangelism.
